I’m actually really excited to share this sample seo proposal with you. Whether you’re trying to land your first SEO client, or your 100th, you’re going to get a lot out of this video. The SEO proposal template that

You don’t have to have any current SEO clients. It’s perfect for newbies for that reason, but also for people with a great track record that are looking to close BIG enterprise or SAAS clients. Also perfect for people who are bad at math, like me.

Also, if you have an example SEO proposal you’d like me to look at, link it up and I’ll check it out!

You’re probably wondering, how do I get SEO clients?

Getting SEO clients, or any clients, isn’t easy. But, it also isn’t complicated. I get asked a lot how to get SEO clients fast and it’s really 3 parts: creating a pipeline of incoming leads, learning how to close those clients (that’s where learning how to do a client seo proposal or client seo presentation really matters), and then learning how to fulfill on the services you’ve been hired for.

I’m super grateful for Andy Raskin’s breakdown of the ultimate sales deck (which I apply to SEO proposals in the video). Andy Raskin is described as “a messaging and positioning expert responsible for crafting some of the most successful sales, marketing and investor pitches in Silicon Valley.”

In theory, writing an SEO proposal that actually SELLS SEO means:

Follow the 5 most important parts of a sales deck narrative
Name a Big, Relevant Change in the World
Show There’ll Be Winners and Losers
Tease the Promised Land
Introduce Features as “Magic Gifts” for Overcoming Obstacles to the Promised Land
Present Evidence that You Can Make the Story Come True
Combine with the Hero’s Journey
Make the potential client the hero, not you
Blend in the Perfect Webinar
Close with the Offer Stack

But in practice, here’s an SEO proposal template of how I’d put together an SEO proposal for a client:

Name the big end goal for the client
This comes from the paid audit you’ve already done
Position yourself as the expert guide to take them through this journey
Qualifications, awards
Remember, they’re the hero in this story, not you. Focus on how you guide THEM.
Name a Big, Relevant Change in the World
Track that change over time
Explain why the change will be permanent
Statistics are fantastic
Everybody is doing it
Show There’ll Be Winners and Losers
Show the biggest losers
Show the biggest winners
Tease the Promised Land
Summarize what those businesses are doing right
Introduce Features as “Magic Gifts” for Overcoming Obstacles to the Promised Land
What SEO services you offer and recommend for them (6 month strategy)
Present Evidence that You Can Make the Story Come True
Testimonials and case studies

  1. This is gold Brendan, thanks so much for all of the content you're sharing its gold! I think my biggest problem is focussing on one thing. I've had success with search-driven content marketing before, but I'm not sure if I can find enough clients with just one service. So I do other stuff too – but that reduces the time I can spend learning and becoming the best at something else.

  2. Agree with Wyatt. Great job Brendan! I've been a proponent of using story for a while and also have an ROI calculator as a lead magnet but you're way ahead of me in piecing all the bits together as a sales process. I really liked the warning not to use the process for general education.

I'm still getting my first 10 regular clients but this is a reminder to formalise more of the process. Thanks for sharing.

  3. He Brendan quick question that is not related to this video.

But do you use the related search tums in the subheading with the full keyword or only the related part. Like fun things to do in Chicago in winter or only the in winter part? I ask this because in the other case it will see like kw stuffing.

I ask this because this topic was not very clear to in this video and in your free course.
